Engineering Education Research in our Department supports our commitment to student success, student-centered, and student-driven inquiry. Our faculty lead research projects focusing on student motivation, identity formation and belonging, as well as scholarship that drives meaningful impact. This includes the design and assessment of innovative interventions, such as summer “bridge” programs, research experiences for teachers, learning abroad programs, and out-of-school K–12 chemical education and outreach events. Together, these efforts advance both the theory and practice of engineering education, while expanding access and opportunities across various learning environments.
