Corporate sustainability within the chemical industry is defined by achieving a long-term sustainable business with environmental protection and social responsibility. The global population is expected to grow to 10 billion people by 2050. How will the chemical industry serve this growing world while decreasing consumption of the planet's finite resources? This lecture will focus on how SABIC, and more broadly the chemical industry, is confronting these challenges by harnessing renewable energy to power production, designing products with recyclability in mind, and working collaboratively with global NGOs to bring accountability and transparency to the industry.
