Dr. Gorugantu earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Ghent University, Belgium, in 2020. During her Ph.D. program, she conducted short-term research visits at the CRECK group at Politecnico di Milano in Italy and the Broadbelt research group at Northwestern University in the United States. She earned an M.S. (Research) in Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India, in 2015, and a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from B.M.S. College of Engineering, Bangalore, India, in 2012. During her master's program, she spent a semester at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany as a DAAD exchange student. Prior to joining the University of Houston as an Assistant Professor and Presidential Faculty Fellow, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Broadbelt research group in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Northwestern University and a member of the Northwestern-Argonne Institute of Science and Engineering.
